Dr. Whiteside and I both flew Pitts Specials (S2B model). Met him at the airport, we had many fine conversations and helped each other with the typical pilot camaraderie. He was a talented pilot and good friend. When he sold his Pitts, one of the fuel caps wouldn't seal, so I gave him one off my plane so his buyer could fly off. I said I would fix it and use it on mine. A week later a brand new one was at my hangar, painted the correct color. He was a man of character and accomplishment.

Susan, Kirk, Tom & David,My parents, Fletcher & Lou Alice were so blessed to have had your dad & mom as friends. They enjoyed taking trips together, sharing laughs and visits when your dad had seminars in SA. I will never forget your dad taking me up in his plane and doing stunts. It was a once in a lifetime experience I will always treasure. Our kids knew him as Tic Tock. I remember as a child going out to eat with my parents, Ed and Carole, Ed always managed to sneak away and pay the bill and he always witnessed to the server. May Gods peace be with all of you.

Susan, Kirk, Tom, & David,Both your mom & dad were special friends to my parents, Fletcher & Lou Alice. Several years ago, mom and I were able to eat at Mermaids with Ed & Susan. Being around your dad made me feel a father's love again. His impact on many people's life will be perpetual. May the Lord hold you close. Bless God we will all be reunited one day! Until then, I'm praying God's peace and comfort to surround y'all. I have fond memories of visiting y'all when we were younger. We are deeply sadden to hear about the passing of your Dad, Grandpa and Brother. He was my Dad's best friend and we came to see him and Carole every year on our visits to Arkansas from Missouri. How I loved to hear him tell stories about my Dad and him. I loved my flight in his stunt plane. He will be so missed but we find comfort in him going home to his Heavenly Father.
